OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G Review

Our OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G review reports what the flagship alternative offers. In doing so, we focused particularly on the camera, the performance and the endurance to give you the most realistic picture possible of everyday use.

With the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G, the giant brand from China has released another flagship killer onto the market. In Germany, the smartphone is available for an introductory price of around 800 euros. You can check oppo mobile prices in Pakistan also. However, in terms of equipment, it can keep up with the much more expensive premium smartphones from manufacturers such as Apple, HUAWEI or Samsung.

The first impression of the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G

Quality and design are convincing across the board. The OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G presents a modern, almost borderless look with a front camera punch hole on the left. In addition, the fully glazed back comes in three refreshing color options: Galactic Blue, Space Black and Green Glitter. The OPPO logo is also semi-transparent on the black back, which looks very good overall.

The 6.5-inch display of the OPPO Reno Pro 5G has a sharp Full HD Plus resolution. Thanks to the 90 Hertz refresh rate, the animation of the AMOLED panel looks smooth and pleasant. The fingerprint sensor is located under the screen. The OPPO Reno Pro 5G can also be unlocked by face recognition.

Performance and Endurance: Many hours of fun

Since the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G is cheaper than other flagships, there must be a catch. You can find that in performance. The smartphone is not equipped with Qualcomm’s premium processor, the Snapdragon 865, but with its little brother, the Snapdragon 765G. The chip, manufactured using the 7 nm process, has a maximum clock rate of up to 2.4 GHz and uses up to 12 GB of RAM. That’s not enough for top performance, but satisfactory everyday performance. In the test, the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G always ran quickly and reliably in all games and applications, so we have nothing to complain about here.

OPPO has equipped its smartphone with two 2,000 mAh batteries for long runtime. If you rarely put your smartphone down, take a lot of photos, watch videos or play games for hours, you will need around 24 hours to work the charge level down to zero percent. If you only use your smartphone occasionally, like we did in the test, 48 hours and more are possible without any problems. However, thanks to the 65-watt fast-charging power supply, your OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G is always ready for use within a very short time.

Camera: A good alternative

The camera equipment of the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G is impressive. The triple camera on the back comprises a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. In addition, there is also a 32-megapixel front camera.

The video function of the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G is also impressive. The smartphone records normal videos in a maximum of 4K at up to 30 fps. A slow-motion mode also records videos at up to 120 frames per second. The slow-mo videos are a nice gimmick that has kept us busy for a long time. The videos are characterized by particularly smooth playback. It’s also nice to go through almost every image individually when editing. We were just as impressed by the triple camera’s new image stabilizer. We made the greatest effort to blur the image in the ultra-steady videos. However, the result is impressive.

Conclusion: That’s why you should buy the OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G

The OPPO Reno 4 Pro 5G is an all-around successful smartphone. We were impressed by the chic design and excellent battery life. The performance is suitable for amateur photographers, as it automatically enhances images. There are also many photo and video modes that invite you to experiment.
