The Russian army is planning offensives in three directions at once – in the area of Popasna, Avdeevka and Zaporizhzhia. But Ukrainian troops will be able to fight back. Aleksey Arestovich , the adviser to the head of the President’s Office, stated this in an interview with Mark Feigin.
He said that Russia was preparing a “small offensive” in three directions at once.
According to him, Russian troops have accumulated in the Popasnaya area – they will probably move to the west or north of Popasnaya. There were also three Russian assaults in the Avdiivka area yesterday, but Ukrainian artillerymen fought back.
“Nevertheless, they are a little concentrated there and want to break through our defenses. Oh, they do. It is clear why. Because the party demands the encirclement of Rubizhne, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk,” Arestovich said.
He also said that a tank battalion had arrived in the Zaporizhzhia direction, which also wanted to attack. “We are looking forward to these people going on the offensive,” he said.
In his opinion, it is unrealistic to achieve any of Ukraine vs Russia Kremlin’s political goals with the current forces. He noted that in the Avdiivka area, the Russian army had not advanced a single meter in 80 days of attacks.
“Those were swept away – we will also sweep away these (new attackers. – Ed. ). Well, there is a threat of a tactical-level offensive. They will attack – we will shoot at them. I think it will not work (for the Russians. – Ed. ), as well as before,” he concluded.
