Introduction

Welcome to our blog! This is a story of our family’s two-night getaway to Star Wars. It was inspired by our son’s love of the movies and our daughter’s recent obsession with all things Jedi.

We live in Southern California, so we were able to drive up to San Francisco for the weekend. We stayed at a hotel near Union Square and spent our days walking around the city, visiting the sights, and of course, doing a little shopping.

On Saturday night, we went to see the new Star Wars movie at the Dolby Theatre. It was an amazing experience! The movie was great and the theatre itself is incredible. After the movie, we walked around downtown San Francisco, taking in the sights and sounds of the city at night.

On Sunday, we visited Lucasfilm headquarters in nearby Marin County. We took a tour of Skywalker Ranch and saw some of the sets used in filming the Star Wars movies. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us all!

We had an amazing time on our little family getaway and we hope you enjoy reading about it. Thanks for following along!

Making the Plans

When we decided to take our family on a two-night getaway to Star Wars, we had no idea where to start. We knew we wanted to visit some of the filming locations, but we also wanted to make sure that we had plenty of time to explore and have fun. After doing some research, we came up with the perfect plan for our trip.

Our first stop was Disneyland. We spent the day exploring the park and riding all of the rides. We even got to meet some of the characters! After a full day at Disneyland, we headed over to our hotel for the night.

The next day, we woke up early and headed over to Universal Studios Hollywood. We started our day by going on all of the rides and then exploring the studio tour. We got to see where they filmed some of our favorite movies and TV shows! After a full day at Universal Studios, we headed back to our hotel for another night.

On our last day, we woke up early and headed over to Warner Bros. Studios. We took the studio tour and then explored the backlot. It was so cool to see where they filmed some of our favorite scenes from TV shows and movies! After a full day at Warner Bros., we headed back home feeling exhausted but satisfied.

What to Expect at Star Wars:

Assuming you’re referring to the new Star Wars park at Disneyland, here’s what you can expect:

When you first enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll find yourself on the planet of Batuu, also known as “Black Spire Outpost.” This bustling village is full of shops and restaurants, and is the perfect place to start your adventure. Be sure to explore all that Batuu has to offer before heading off to your next destination.

Next, you’ll want to make your way to one of the two signature attractions: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Rise of the Resistance. Both rides are incredible and not to be missed. If you have young children with you, they may not be tall enough to ride some of the attractions, but there is still plenty for them to do. They can build their own droid at the Droid Depot, help out at the First Order Cargo area, or take part in a Jedi training session.

There are also several shows and live entertainment experiences throughout Galaxy’s Edge. Make sure to catch a performance by the talented band at Oga’s Cantina, or see what all the fuss is about at the Droid Workshop. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for roaming characters like Chewbacca and Rey!

No matter what your age, there is something for everyone at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Our Accommodation and Activities

We stayed in a Jedi-themed suite at a local hotel and enjoyed all of the Star Wars-inspired activities they had to offer, including a lightsaber training session, movie marathon, and trivia night. The rooms were decorated with posters of classic Star Wars scenes and memorabilia, and we even had our own light-up lightsaber to use during our stay. It was so much fun being able to immerse ourselves in the world of Star Wars for a few days and we even made some new friends who are just as big of fans as we are.

Exploring the Galaxy Far, Far Away

When most people think of Star Wars, they think of the movies. But for our family, Star Wars is so much more. It’s a way of life. So when we decided to take a two-night getaway to Orlando, Florida, there was only one place we could go: Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

Our vacation started with a bang as we were greeted by Chewbacca and Rey at the entrance to the park. We made our way to Galaxy’s Edge, the newest addition to Hollywood Studios, and were blown away by how realistic it looked. We felt like we were really in another galaxy!

We spent the next two days exploring all that Galaxy’s Edge had to offer. We rode the Millennium Falcon, shopped for souvenirs at the Droid Depot, and ate at Oga’s Cantina (a must-do for any Star Wars fan!). We even got to meet some of our favorite characters, like Kylo Ren and BB-8.

It was an unforgettable experience for our entire family, and we can’t wait to go back again soon.

Dining in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

In a galaxy far, far away, there is a place where you can dine like a Jedi. This place is called Skywalker Ranch, and it is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Skywalker Ranch is a secluded retreat located in Marin County, California. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The ranch has its own private lake, and there are plenty of hiking trails to explore. You can also take a dip in the pool or just relax in the hot tub.

If you’re looking for something to do at night, you can stargaze or go for a walk on one of the many trails. And if you’re really feeling adventurous, you can even camp out under the stars.

The best part about Skywalker Ranch is that it is completely immersive. When you stay here, you feel like you are truly in another world. And what could be more magical than that?

Interacting with Characters from Star Wars

When we arrived at Hollywood Studios, we were greeted by some of the most iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. My kids were thrilled to meet Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Kylo Ren. We even got to participate in a light saber training session with Luke Skywalker!

But my favorite part was watching my kids interact with these characters. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to get their autographs and take photos with them. It was definitely a memorable experience for our family.

Conclusion

Our two-night escape to the Star Wars universe was truly a memorable experience for our family. From lightsaber duels and Jedi training to learning about the science behind movie-making, we were able to enjoy an array of activities that immersed us in this iconic franchise. We are already planning our next getaway and can’t wait to explore more of what the galaxy has to offer!
