The leading cell phone giant Nokia, now again a free player in the market, is coming with another smartphone device to surpass the competition in the market. Nokia D1C is expected to be launched on March 10th, 2017. Nokia D1C will arrive with Android Nougat (Android 7.0) out of the box. It will be a single SIM device with GSM-type SIM support. Networks supported are 4G (Indian bands), 3G and 2G. There is no fingerprint sensor available on this device, and also quick charging facility is not provided. With the brand name of Nokia, one can surely expect the amazing quality of the device, which the company is providing since its entry into the smartphone market. Here are some of the known features of the device.
Display and Design
Nokia D1C sports a 5-inch huge display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). The pixel density of this device is 441 pixels per inch (PPI). It dons an IPS-LCS type display with capacitive touch support and multi-touch. Currently multi-touch up to how many fingers is not known. With the 5-inch full HD display the device provides best in class user experience and elegant feel. At present, the device dimensions are unknown, but from the provided handset images we shall discuss the design. On the front side, there is a humongous display. Right atop the display in the centre, there is a proximity sensor, and exactly above it, there is an earpiece provided.
The device has a front camera on the left side of the earpiece. On the right side, there is a NOKIA branding. Right below the display in the centre, there is a physical home button, and on the left side of it, there is a capacitive back button. On the right side of the home button, there is a capacitive multitasking button. There is no revelation whether the capacitive buttons on the device are backlit or not. On the bottom of the handset, there is a charging port, and the speaker vent is on the right side of it. This device also possesses a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device. SIM slot is on the left side of the device. Lock button and volume rockers are on the right side of the device. On the back side of the device, there is NOKIA branding and a rear camera accompanied with LED flash.
Performance and Storage
This device performs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 MSM 8937 processor. It works on an octa-core Cortex A53 chip clocked at 1.4GHz. This processor has 64bit architecture, and it ensures the fast performance of the device. Graphics performance on the device is fulfilled by Adreno 505 which arrives on board with the processor. There is a 3GB RAM provided to perform fast multi-tasking and hassle free performance. On board storage on the device is 32GB and it can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
Camera and Battery
There are two cameras in this device. The primary camera is provided on the rear side, and it is a 16MP shooter whereas secondary camera provides on the front side is an 8 MP shooter. The rear camera is enabled with CMOS sensor and autofocus, but optical image stabilization is not provided. Rear cam is accompanied with LED flash to capture bright and crisp images in low-light conditions. Images are captured in 4616 x 3464-pixel resolution. The user can adjust exposure compensation and ISO according to his/her will from the settings panel. There are two modes in which images can be captured continuous shooting mode and high dynamic range mode. Other camera features include digital zoom, face detection and touch to focus. Videos can be shot in full HD at 30fps. The front camera is loaded as an 8MP shooter, and no front flash is provided. The battery on this device is 3000mAh which can last long for a day if fully charged. It is a Li-ion type battery, and the user can not remove it.
Network and Connectivity
This is a single SIM supporting device which works with GSM-type SIM. Networks supported are 4G (Indian bands), 3G and 2G. Internet sharing can be done using hotspot feature, and it can be secured using WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK security. Wi-Fi can be used to data access from other mobile device or routers. Bluetooth v4.1 is provided to pair your smartphone with other Bluetooth connectivity devices. GPS is provided to access maps and locations. Micro USB v2.0 is provided for sharing data with desktop and charging purpose. The device has sensors which are light, proximity, accelerometer, and compass.
Verdict
Nokia D1C price in India is expected to be around 20k. With the specified features, one can definitely go for this one. After all, it is Nokia the brand trusted by users for a long span of time.
