2022 Stanley Cup
The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin one month from tomorrow. The final few weeks of the NHL regular season are here and seeding and playoff spots are still in the air and up for grabs.
The Eastern Conference is going to be a complete gauntlet from day one and the Western Conference will be as well, but it won’t feel as intense. There is so much sports news to follow across the NHL. However, what are the updated odds to win the 2022 Stanley Cup Title?
Colorado Avalanche +400
The Colorado Avalanche will be the favorite to win it all this year. They currently have the best record in the NHL with a 48-14-6 record with 102 points so far this season. Colorado got some refreshing news this week that Nathan MacKinnon’s injury is not as serious as they thought it was going to be.
He is one of the top players in the NHL and the Avalanche can’t afford to have him sidelined long-term. They are also dealing with some other injuries to Samuel Girard, Bowen Byram, and Gabriel Landeskog.
There is so much talent there anyway with Cale Makar on defense, Darcy Kuemper in net, and Mikko Rantanen. Nazem Kadri needs to keep his head on a swivel though in the Stanley Cup Playoffs because he has a history of doing ridiculous things and getting suspended for them. This goes back to his Toronto Maple Leafs days.
Jared Bednar is the head coach of this hockey team. His team is under so much pressure to win it all this year.
Florida Panthers +550
The Florida Panthers are currently leading the Atlantic Division with a 46-15-6 record with 98 points so far this season. Florida is one of those teams that has a great chance to win the Stanley Cup. The Panthers won’t have it easy from the opening round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs though.
This hockey team has four legitimate lines that can score at any moment in the hockey game. Their transition game is second to none. Florida always seems to score at least four or five goals in every game they are on home ice. They just become an ordinary hockey team when playing on the road.
Aleksander Barkov is one of the best two-way players in the entire NHL. Jonathan Huberdeau has a legitimate cause for the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP). They have a solid blue line and Sergei Bobrovsky will be the starting goalie and Spencer Knight will be backing him up.
Andrew Brunette is the head coach of this hockey team. They are just a well-oiled machine and they are waiting for some key role players to come back from an injury like Anton Lundell and Patric Hornqvist.
Tampa Bay Lightning +900
The Tampa Bay Lightning have the third-best odds to win the Stanley Cup. They are currently the number three seed in the Atlantic Division with a 42-18-6 record so far this season with 90 points. Tampa Bay is one point back of the Toronto Maple Leafs for the number two seed, but they are also only one point ahead of the Boston Bruins for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
It is a little surprising that the Tampa Bay Lightning have better odds than the Carolina Hurricanes to win it all. Tampa Bay is looking to three-peat and it has not been done since the 1980s New York Islanders dynasties, where they won four in a row. The Lightning is not as deep, but still has Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, Brayden Point, and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Jon Cooper is the head coach of this hockey team. He still presses more of the right buttons than more of the wrong buttons.
Other Odds To Win the 2022 Stanley Cup Title: Calgary Flames +900, Carolina Hurricanes +1000, and Toronto Maple Leafs +1200.
