iProVPN is one of the newer additions to the VPN market, which has been running for a little over a year. In such a short span of time, iProVPN has managed to get a lot of notice and great reviews. However, because you can’t trust everything you see online, I had to test the VPN for myself. The results were pretty great considering it’s still almost new. In this iProVPN review, I’ve highlighted the test results of how the VPN worked for me. But, for optimal results, it’s best you test the VPN using its money-back guarantee.

This is a little on what I proven claims to offer, and, from what I’ve gathered so far from the website, personal testing, and a combination of multiple user iProVPN reviews, the provider is pretty great! Yes, there were a couple of flaws, but again, every good VPN needs time to upgrade.
To push everything into a nutshell, iProVPN review is somewhat affordable, especially its 2-year plan that costs around $2.1/mo. There were other packages, but frankly, this was the most budgeted. You can even test the VPN using its 30-day money-back guarantee since there is no actual completely free trial.
Where online security and privacy matter, iProVPN does a great job. Firstly, it does not log user data bound by its strict no-logs policy. Then, to add to that, it’s located in a safe jurisdiction in the British Virgin Islands. For security aspects, its apps all use AES 256-bit encryption matched with some A-grade features like a Kill Switch. You can enable it from the app itself. Other features include Split-Tunneling to add specific apps through the VPN tunnel.
When I mentioned that iProVPN does come with a few flaws, I meant that this provider offers only 250+ servers in 20+ locations. That is considered as lesser than what most providers offer. A larger network is usually appreciated for smoother streaming purposes but what counts is that iProVPN unblocked most of the popular services. During testing, I got access to Netflix, Hulu, Hotstar, Disney Plus, Sky Sports, HBO Now, Amazon Prime, and BBC iPlayer. You will need to try a few times before it starts working smoothly.
iProVPN price and packages
iProVPN might be a little expensive for beginners or first-time VPN users, but it still is a lot cheaper than most VPNs, only if you’ve any idea how much other providers cost. For a quick view, here is how much iProVPN costs:
- The monthly plan costs around $10
- There is a trial period over the 1-year plan that costs $0.99. However, you will be billed $24.95 after the 7 days end and annually after that.
- The most affordable is the 2-year plan that costs just $2.1/mo.
You won’t find a completely free trial, but if the 7 days paid trial period isn’t something you’d consider, you could go for the 30-day money-back guarantee and hack a free trial using that!
The iProVPN network coverage and streaming allowance
I had mentioned above that iProVPN does not offer a very large network coverage, which is something most users would expect especially if they require the VPN mainly for streaming. When we try to unblock a streaming service, it’s crucial to have a number of servers to connect to for optimal results. iProVPN offers only 250+ servers in 20+ countries.
However, when I tested a couple of the servers for platforms that are usually difficult to get access to, I unblocked the US Netflix, UK Netflix, Amazon Prime, Comedy Central, HBO Now, DAZN, Disney Plus (US and UK), Hotstar, Hulu, Sky Sports, AE TV, Food Network, and couple others. Still need to test the VPN more though.
Is iProVPN fast?
It’s not the fastest VPN, but it is still faster than most. The speeds were good enough to stream movies, TV shows or even download torrents without any buffering issues. Plus, the limit for streaming on a platform like Netflix is 25Mbps. From my testing, I got 28.43Mbps using the US server. However, the results also depend on how fast your internet is, to begin with, so the results will vary from user to user.
iProVPN encryption and security features
Other than iProVPN being headquartered outside the 14-eyes jurisdiction, and its no logs policy, the provider served its purpose well. Here’s an excerpt from the iProVPN no-logging policy:
“iProVPN is committed to user privacy. We do not store logs to identify a user’s activity while using iProVPN. Logs refer to information such as IP address of the user, DNS queries, timestamps of VPN connections, and the duration of the VPN connections.”
Other than this, the VPN itself is equipped with great security features for online protection or privacy. It does not leak any data. I tested the VPN using the Netherlands, and US servers. The results were desirable since it did not leak IP, webRTC nor DNS.
The iProVPN app operates using military-level encryption – AES 256-bit encryption. It is one of the highest levels to make sure all web traffic and connection is private and secure. The app comes with a number of VPN protocols like OpenVPN, IKEv2, IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and OpenConnect that you can toggle from the app’s settings. Other than that, the app comes with other security features like:
- A Kill Switch
- Split-Tunneling
- Ad-Blocker
- Malware protection
- Smart Connect
- DNS and IP leak protection
- Unlimited bandwidth
It met all the basic security requirements that is important for every VPN to offer.
iProVPN device support
We all use more than one or two devices, and it’s important that a VPN secures not just one but most of your devices. It’s great that iProVPN not only offers apps for most of the popular devices and operating systems but all sports multi-device connections. You can connect up to 10 devices in a go. Here’s a list of the devices iProVPN supports apps for:
- Windows
- Android
- macOS
- iOS
- Linux
- FireTVstick
- Nvidia Shield
- Roku
- Chromebook
- Routers
- Smart TVs
To conclude – Do I recommend iProVPN?
Yes, I do. iProVPN might not be one of the very best VPNs out there, as it still needs more time to show its full potential. But, from what I’ve gathered and tested so far, iProVPN has proven to be fruitful. It’s secure and is affordable. The plus side is that it works for unlocking most streaming services, the speeds were just okay but fast enough, and the provider could do a little more work where server support is concerned. The bottom line, it’s a great VPN!
